Offensive tackle stands out as the most obvious need for this team going forward. However, with the Chargers holding the 13th overall pick in this mock draft, their offensive tackle options are a bit limited. Instead, they attack the interior here, bringing in an absolutely dominant offensive guard prospect who would immediately help stabilize their situation up front.

Wyatt Davis is a big and powerful offensive lineman who absolutely dominates at the point of attack. He has incredibly strong hands and absolutely manhandles opposing defenders in short spaces. When Davis gets his hands on a defender, it is typically game over. This guy is an absolute mauler who uses his power well in the run game and as a pass protector.

Davis’ power consistently stands out on tape, but he also shows quick feet and impressive athleticism for such a big man. Davis gets off of the ball quickly and moves extremely well in space. He attacks the second level extremely well and shows an impressive ability to mirror opposing rushers in pass protection.

The Chargers will undoubtedly be looking to take care of their offensive tackle situation, but they can only draft the players who are available. Davis is far and away the best interior offensive lineman in the 2021 NFL Draft class and would undoubtedly help keep the inside of the pocket clean for Herbert. With the elite offensive tackle prospects off of the board, Davis is the prospect who makes the most sense for LA.
