LSU. player. 32. S. Grant Delpit. 8. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Actual pick: Isaiah Simmons, S/LB, Clemson

Grant Delpit’s hype was exceptionally high after the 2018 college football season.

He racked up 74 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, five interceptions, nine pass breakups, and a forced fumble.

Those numbers are good enough to make even Isaiah Simmons blush.

Considering the Cardinals are playing Simmons at linebacker, it’s possible they would have gone a completely different direction with this pick if they didn’t go with Simmons, perhaps offensive line, but Delpit might have been perceived as way too good of a value to pass up if his tackling issues had not been exploited throughout the 2019 college season.

Delpit ended up going in the second round to the Cleveland Browns in the actual 2020 NFL Draft.
