Instead, Baltimore wound up taking breakout player Patrick Queen, yet another player in the 2020 NFL Draft class who probably would have had to return to school to prove himself or hope that his athletic traits could get him picked in round one.
More people were talking about K’Lavon Chaisson and Jacob Phillips last year at this time as the heir to Devin White on LSU’s defense.
Not many were talking about Patrick Queen.
Queen had just 46 tackles in two seasons at this point a year ago for the Tigers before bursting through in 2019 and especially so in the College Football Playoff.
