Scouting Report. Minnesota. Rashod Bateman. 21. player. Pick Analysis. WR. 31

The New York Giants are another team that had a much better year than expected in this 2020 season simulation. Quarterback Daniel Jones balled out in the Madden world and led the Giants to the post-season. I do not see this happening in real life, but you never know.

With a later pick than expected, the Giants go out and get Jones a dynamic weapon at the wide receiver position. Rashod Bateman has nice size at the wide receiver position and is a smooth route runner who knows how to create space. He also attacks the ball in the air extremely well, consistently shining in contested-catch situations.

While Bateman is not a burner on the outside, he does show some nice deep speed and the ability to track the ball in the air extremely well. He is not going to be a consistent field stretcher at the next level, but he is a player who teams will have to keep an eye on in the deep passing game.

Bateman looked like an exciting draft prospect last season, but he should be able to take his game to the next level in 2020. With Tyler Johnson moving on to the NFL, Bateman will be the focal point of the Minnesota offense next season and he could quickly become a no-brainer first-round 2021 NFL Draft pick.

In Bateman, the Giants could groom themselves a true number one receiver to build around. This team has a lot of work to do before they are legitimate contenders in the NFC, but adding a guy like Bateman would be a step in the right direction.
