In this 2021 NFL Draft scenario, the Vikings go on the clock at No. 11, and despite taking a cornerback in the first round this year, they go back to the position here with another Alabama defender.
Patrick Surtain II is a big and athletic cornerback prospect who shows tremendous natural man-to-man coverage skills. He has all of the skills needed to be a shutdown cornerback on the outside, but he is more than a big and athletic defender who wins with physicality.
This guy is smart in coverage, patient at the line of scrimmage and smooth at all times. Surtain also shows incredible ball skills for a defensive player and a knack for coming down with the ball in difficult situations.
A long-term cornerback duo of Surtain and Jeff Gladney would take an already talented Vikings’ defense to the next level.
