CB. player. Pick Analysis. Patrick Surtain II. 11. 60. Scouting Report. Alabama

A bit of a disappointing season for Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings in this Madden simulation. The Vikings are certainly a talented team, but the NFC North is a competitive division and this kind of mediocre season is certainly possible. In this 2021 NFL Draft scenario, the Vikings go on the clock at No. 11, and despite taking a cornerback in the first round this year, they go back to the position here with another Alabama defender.

Patrick Surtain II is a big and athletic cornerback prospect who shows tremendous natural man-to-man coverage skills. He has all of the skills needed to be a shutdown cornerback on the outside, but he is more than a big and athletic defender who wins with physicality.

This guy is smart in coverage, patient at the line of scrimmage and smooth at all times. Surtain also shows incredible ball skills for a defensive player and a knack for coming down with the ball in difficult situations.

A long-term cornerback duo of Surtain and Jeff Gladney would take an already talented Vikings’ defense to the next level. Surtain is a shutdown cornerback in the making and could quickly grow into an incredible player at one of the most important positions in the game. Surtain is an elite-level 2021 NFL Draft prospect who would immediately help the Vikings in a big way.
