Penn State. Jayson Oweh. player. Pick Analysis. EDGE. 2. 806. Scouting Report

The Las Vegas Raiders should feel pretty good about their current situation on the edge. Their starting duo of Clelin Ferrell and Maxx Crosby provides immediate stability and plenty of long-term upside. However, both players are more power-based edge defenders. I am sure that the Raiders would like to find an explosive and bendy edge rusher who can win with speed around the edge.

In the second round of this mock draft, the Raiders take Jayson Oweh an explosive athlete who could come in and provide a different element to their pass rush game. Oweh has been a part-time player through his first two years on campus, but it does not take many snaps to watch him and see how talented this guy is.

Oweh is extremely quick off of the ball and explosive around the edge. He has a quick first step, extremely long arms and ridiculous natural bend around the corner. He can dip low and bend around the corner with ease and shows impressive closing speed as well. Oweh is certainly an underdeveloped talent, but he undoubtedly has the tools to be a star edge rusher at the next level.

Oweh will see an expanded role in the Penn State defense in 2020 and has a chance to quickly become a premier edge prospect in the 2021 NFL Draft. When next April rolls around, Oweh could easily be gone well before the second round, but the Las Vegas Raiders snag the great value of Oweh in this mock draft.
