5. Philip Rivers, Indianapolis Colts

Philip Rivers made the move from Los Angeles to Indianapolis where he will work with Frank Reich, Nick Sirianni, and a host of new playmakers offensively.

It’s hard to argue that Rivers is getting better offensive line play in Indianapolis than he had with the Chargers, but what about the overall roster?

Rivers’ defense in LA was tremendous, at least on paper, and the offensive skill players he had were at least comparable to those he’s getting in Indianapolis.

Rivers and the Chargers struggled to compete in recent years with a very strong roster, so forgive my skepticism that he instantly makes the Colts Super Bowl contenders.

I think Rivers brings a veteran presence to the Colts and their roster overall could benefit from that. It’s also reasonable to assume that Rivers will do a great job running Reich/Sirianni’s offense.

The jury is still out on this one, for me.
