Best Available Running Back – Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs have a long line of fantasy football stars at the running back position. From Priest Holmes to Larry Johnson to Kareem Hunt, the Chiefs have always produced at a high level from the running back position. Even Andy Reid’s offenses have done the same with Brian Westbrook and LeSean McCoy. Now, Clyde Edwards-Helaire is panning out to be the next on the list.

He won’t have the backfield all to himself with Damien Williams who had a strong season a year ago still on the roster, however, there will be plenty of opportunities to make plays. With 55 receptions last year, Edwards-Helaire could be a big producer in the passing game as well, being on a team that has a lot of speed and size at wide receiver and tight end positions.

No matter the league format, standard scoring, PPR, dynasty, keeper, etc. Edwards-Helaire could be a great pick in any league. He has the tools and players around him to be a dangerous weapon that should be the first rookie drafted in most leagues. I wouldn’t put him up in the range of Barkley or Elliott in his rookie season, but he could be on a similar level as Aaron Jones or Josh Jacobs when the season is all said and done.
