2. John Simpson, G, Clemson

The second draft pick for the Raiders that is under-hyped going into the 2020 season is a teammate of Tanner Muse from college, offensive guard John Simpson.

In a draft class that was outstanding all over the offensive line, Simpson went underrated even in the pre-draft process and fell to the Raiders in the fourth round.

Although his movement skills are a bit below average, Simpson is explosive and violent as a run blocker.

With his 6-foot-4, 314-pound frame and massive hands and reach, Simpson was an All-American at Clemson last season and for good reason.

He can absolutely maul defenders in the running game and he’s solid in pass protection as well.

With the Raiders looking to potentially move on from Gabe Jackson who was rumored to be available in a trade, Simpson’s role in 2020 might be a bit more significant than anyone really knows.
