Pick Analysis. 17. player. 52. Scouting Report. CB. Virginia Tech. Caleb Farley

One of my most egregious omissions from my previous mock draft was Virginia Tech’s Caleb Farley, who could contend for the top CB spot in the entire 2021 NFL Draft class.

Farley picked off four passes in 10 games last season and added another 12 pass breakups.

Some people think Farley might even be the best overall defensive player in college football this coming season.

That’s high praise for the junior out of Hickory, NC.

Farley is 6-foot-2 and with his overall size and length combined with natural ball skills and instincts in coverage, he is an absolute clamp at the cornerback position on the opposing team’s top receivers.

With the Jaguars, Farley would make up one half of a tremendous-looking duo of young cornerbacks. The Jaguars used their top pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on Florida cornerback CJ Henderson, one of the top cover corners coming into the league this year.

Together, Farley and Henderson could help the Jaguars make life tough for opposing offenses.
