New York Giants 2021 NFL Draft: Way-too-early 3-round mock draft
The free-agent addition of Blake Martinez this offseason will certainly help, but the New York Giants will likely still enter the 2021 NFL Draft with a need at the off-ball linebacker position. They aggressively attacked the position with multiple picks late in the 2020 draft, but guys like Cam Brown, Carter Coughlin, Tae Crowder and T.J. Brunson are far from guaranteed to be impact players.
With the players still remaining on the board, linebacker stood out as an obvious position to attack and Charles Snowden was the best choice. Snowden is an extremely long and athletic linebacker prospect who consistently shines against the run. Snowden shows great range, impressive block shed ability and is an incredibly reliable tackler at all times.
His coverage skills are a bit underdeveloped, but Snowden has shown some upside in short zone coverage. He is also an impressive overall pass rusher who will be a weapon in the blitz game at the next level.
If Snowden shows improvement in coverage, the sky is the limit when it comes to his 2021 NFL Draft. Snagging him in the third round would be an ideal scenario for the Giants.
