Caden Sterns. 2. 851. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Texas. S. player

The Dolphins aggressively added to their secondary this offseason and have a strong group of young talent worth getting excited about at the position. However, they still lack a long-term safety who can make plays on the back-end. Caden Sterns stands out as a strong fit for the team right here.

Sterns is an extremely instinctive and athletic safety prospect who has a ton of range on the back-end. He has fantastic zone coverage skills and is an ideal deep safety at the next level. Sterns has the range and ball skills to be a tremendous playmaker in the centerfield role. He is not going to offer much in run support, but adding Sterns would round out the Dolphins’ secondary extremely well.

EDGE. 866. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Pittsburgh. Patrick Jones II. 3. player

A team can never have too many pass rushers and the Miami Dolphins are not exactly loaded with elite long-term options on the edge. In the third round of this mock draft, Miami attacks their need at edge rusher by bringing in Patrick Jones II.

Jones shows an impressive combination of initial burst and power at the point of attack. He is quick around the edge and shows a wide array of impressive pass rush moves. Jones is quick to the inside and uses his hands well at all times. With strong ability as both a run defender and pass rusher, snagging Jones in the third round would bring plenty of value to the Dolphins’ 2021 NFL Draft haul.
