Staying in the state of Florida once again, the Jaguars use their third-round pick in this mock 2021 NFL Draft scenario on UCF safety Richie Grant, one of the top playmakers at the safety position in the 2021 class.

Grant is entering his senior season after he exploded onto the scene two years ago as a sophomore starter with 108 tackles, six interceptions, and two forced fumbles.

Grant makes plays all over the field and with Ronnie Harrison at the strong safety position, he could be the ideal free safety to roam around the back end for the Jaguars’ new-look defense.

In addition to having seven interceptions over the last two seasons, Grant has eight tackles for loss and 12 pass breakups.

He is a smooth mover who reads the quarterback’s eyes very well on the back end of the defense.

As good as he is playing deep, Grant is instinctive and can come up and play around the line of scrimmage as needed as well.

This draft class gives the Jaguars a huge influx of offensive talent but the addition of Richie Grant further upgrades the defensive side of the ball which got some significant upgrades in the 2020 NFL Draft as well.
