Jacksonville Jaguars: Early 53-man roster and depth chart prediction
Jacksonville Jaguars 2020 roster prediction and breakdown.
The Jacksonville Jaguars will go into the 2020 season with little expectations for success from fans, as well as the national media.
After going 6-10 last season, the Jags didn’t make many moves to leave much optimism for improvement this year. They did have a nice 2020 NFL Draft haul and brought in former head coach, Jay Gruden, to try and get more out of the offense but that alone doesn’t quite push the needle forward.
There is one name that should incite a little bit of intrigue into this Jacksonville Jaguars team going into 2020 and that name is Gardner Minshew.
The former 2019 sixth-rounder was the surprise of his draft class, as he finished his rookie campaign with a 6-6 record after taking over for the injured Nick Foles in Week 1. He would go on to lead all rookie passers in passing yards per game (233.6) and passer rating (91.2) and gives Jacksonville a shot at an identity going forward.
Minshew wasn’t just good for a sixth-round pick, he played every bit as good as the guys at the top of the draft and has earned himself a chance to prove he is a franchise quarterback for the Jaguars.
Given the team’s long history of struggles at the position, Minshew adds some excitement that is rarely there in Jacksonville.
He will certainly need some help to take that next step, however, so plenty of players on both sides of the football will need to step up in 2020.
Let’s take a look at what this roster could look like when the 53-man is finally decided.
