WR Chris Rowland, Tennessee State

Will the Atlanta Falcons add another UDFA wide receiver after they added Zaccheaus a year ago? I can definitely see it happening as Rowland is a phenomenal returner on special teams. The Falcons have lacked a solid returner since Devin Hester was on the team.

Rowland will have to impress the coaching staff to warrant one of the wide receiver spots on the team. After having 1,437 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior he will need to perform well in preseason with the receiver talent the Falcons currently have. His return ability may not be enough for the last receiver spot. He needs to impress the coaches by making catches down the field and creating separation from the cornerbacks.

The team currently has eleven receivers on the roster and most likely the Atlanta Falcons will decide to keep either five or six. Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, and Russell Gage will be the top three but who rounds out the bottom of the depth chart come this fall?

I believe Zaccheaus will be a lock for the roster leaving potential a fifth and sixth spot still up for grabs. The Falcons signed former first-round receiver Laquon Treadwell who was originally drafted by the Minnesota Vikings. I believe Treadwell will make the roster as a change of scenery will do him well.

That leaves the sixth spot up for grabs with five receivers competing for that spot. I think they should give it to Rowland which then the team has a return specialist and is an upgrade over Brandon Powell who has some experience as a returner.
