2020 NFL Draft: Grading and analyzing all 255 picks for all 32 teams
2020 NFL Draft Picks
- 1. AJ Epenesa, DL, Iowa
- 2. Zack Moss, RB, Utah
- 3. Gabriel Davis, WR, UCF
- 4. Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia
- 5. Tyler Bass, K, Georgia Southern
- 6. Isaiah Hodgins, WR, Oregon State
- 7. Dane Jackson, CB, Pittsburgh
Top pick: AJ Epenesa, DL, Iowa
If the Bills had kept their first-round pick and taken AJ Epenesa, no one would have thought twice about it.
The fact that they got him in the second round as the last team to make a selection in the 2020 NFL Draft is astounding.
Epenesa is a base defensive end on the right side who can play from the 3T all the way out to the standing linebacker position when needed.
He’s best with his hand in the dirt and he can get pressure on the QB as well as hold his ground against the run.
Steal: WR Isaiah Hodgins, Oregon State – 6th round
If not Epenesa, I think the biggest steal from this class is the big-bodied Isaiah Hodgins out of Oregon State.
The Bills have a very interesting core of receivers already, but adding Hodgins to the mix gives the team a red zone weapon and 50-50 specialist who can come down with tough, contested catches.
Overall Grade: C+
Although the class for the Bills is altogether unspectacular, they got nice value with most of their picks and managed to address some areas of need.
Epenesa in the second round is a high “A” grade with Zack Moss in the third round being a nice follow up.
Gabriel Davis will provide depth as a rookie and Jake Fromm was a solid value where the Bills got him based on his college resume.
The Bills took Georgia Southern kicker Tyler Bass, who is going to have to prove his range in the NFL after kicking a career-long of only 50 yards in college.
Dane Jackson can play special teams and eventually provide some depth at secondary and was a nice seventh-round pick.
