Top pick: Patrick Queen, LB, LSU

The Ravens desperately needed help at the linebacker position in this draft, and they got it in the form of Patrick Queen, the LSU linebacker who was dominant in the College Football Playoff.

Queen has speed, instincts, and the coverage ability to play all three downs.

He will be a defensive rookie of the year candidate for this team.

Steal: S Geno Stone, Iowa – 7th round

It’s hard to pick just one steal for this Ravens draft class, but getting Geno Stone in the seventh round is ridiculous.

Stone was tremendous for the Iowa Hawkeyes playing a box safety role and it would be shocking if he did not eventually develop into a significant contributor for Baltimore’s defense.

Overall Grade: A+

What is there not to like about this class for the Ravens?

Patrick Queen could be a rookie of the year candidate defensively.

JK Dobbins in the second round is already a huge value, but putting him on this Ravens team which led the NFL in rushing by a mile last season?

Yikes.

Justin Madubuike has the ability to collapse the pocket from the interior defensive line and had 11 sacks over the past two seasons for Texas A&M.

Devin Duvernay could win the Ravens’ slot job as a rookie. He’s a wide receiver in a running back’s body with tremendous after-the-catch ability.

Malik Harrison is another player who could start for the Ravens as a rookie. He may not have the same type of three-down abilities as Queen, but he’s a big-time athlete with a whopping 16.5 tackles for loss last season.

Tyre Phillips is a nasty offensive line prospect who projects to the inside going forward.

Ben Bredeson, Broderick Washington Jr., and James Proche are all awesome picks late in the draft as well.

Proche, in fact, is one of my favorite picks in this draft as a slot type of receiver who catches just about everything thrown his direction.

Overall, this draft class is incredible.
