2020 NFL Draft: Grading and analyzing all 255 picks for all 32 teams
2020 NFL Draft Picks
- 1. Javon Kinlaw, DL, South Carolina
- 2. Brandon Aiyuk, WR, Arizona State
- 3. Colton McKivitz, OT, West Virginia
- 4. Charlie Woerner, TE, Georgia
- 5. Jauan Jennings, WR, Tennessee
Top pick: Javon Kinlaw, DL, South Carolina
Although he wasn’t as consistent as some wanted him to be, Javon Kinlaw has the ability to be a game-wrecker on the defensive line and he will try to fill the big shoes of DeForest Buckner as a rookie with the 49ers.
San Francisco has so much talent on their front seven defensively that it’s hard to believe Kinlaw will face too many double teams as a rookie. He should thrive early on in this defense.
Steal: WR Jauan Jennings, Tennessee – 7th round
Many felt like Jauan Jennings was going to be a steal in this draft no matter where he landed, and he wound up in a great situation with the 49ers.
He will have an immediate role as a special teams ace, but this guy is a physical player after the catch offensively as well and could use his ability on special teams to beat out other players for regular season snaps on offense as well.
Overall Grade: B+
This was a small, modest class for the 49ers, but they made their imprint with two first-round picks used on Javon Kinlaw and Brandon Aiyuk.
The addition of Aiyuk gives the 49ers of dynamic playmakers after the catch offensively along with Deebo Samuel and George Kittle.
Colton McKivitz and Charlie Woerner are players who will factor into the team’s depth and future conversation at both tackle and tight end, respectively.
