Scouting Report. AFC West. Las Vegas Raiders. . 28. Pick Analysis. 3rd place. player

2020 NFL Draft Picks

  • 1. Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama
  • 2. Damon Arnette, CB, Ohio State
  • 3. Lynn Bowden Jr., RB, Kentucky
  • 4. Bryan Edwards, WR, South Carolina
  • 5. Tanner Muse, LB, Clemson
  • 6. John Simpson, OL, Clemson
  • 7. Amik Robertson, CB, Louisiana Tech

Top pick: Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama

The Raiders wanted to add some firepower to their offense early in the 2020 NFL Draft, and they did just that by taking the fastest player in the class.

Henry Ruggs was not a unanimous WR1, but he was the Raiders’ WR1 and now they get to give the Kansas City Chiefs a taste of their own medicine twice a year.

Steal: CB Amik Robertson, Louisiana Tech – 5th round

One of the most underrated defensive playmakers in this rookie class, Amik Robertson was a heck of a value for the Raiders in the fifth round.

Unlike the 2019 NFL Draft, I think the Raiders got really good value at just about every turn of this class. Robertson has immediate starter upside as a nickel cornerback, but he was no slouch on the outside either.

Overall Grade: A

Armed with two first-round picks, the Raiders got themselves a big-time playmaker at receiver and then a player they hope can help Trayvon Mullen shut down receivers in Damon Arnette.

Arnette has big pressure to perform early for a secondary that desperately needs him.

Lynn Bowden Jr. and Bryan Edwards with back-to-back picks in the third round was fascinating and both players should contribute a little bit as rookies with starter upside down the line.

The Raiders completed their revamped linebacker group with the selection of safety Tanner Muse, who will play linebacker in the pros.

John Simpson at guard was a contender for biggest steal in this class. He should be able to step into a starting role at the right guard position whenever the Raiders ultimately move on from Gabe Jackson.
