2016 Draft: 3rd round, 98th overall

Justin Simmons is the most recent Denver Broncos draft selection to make this list.

Although he’s only four seasons into his Denver Broncos career, Simmons has the look of a lifer for the orange and blue.

Coming in on the heels of the team’s Super Bowl 50 victory, Simmons provided a tremendous backup option to Darian Stewart and TJ Ward in the secondary in his first season in the league, but he has since emerged as one of the best safeties in the NFL.

Some regard him as the best overall safety in the game.

Simmons has not missed a snap over the past two seasons for the Broncos and has career totals of:

  • 289 tackles
  • 8 tackles for loss
  • 28 pass breakups
  • 11 interceptions

Simmons was one of the most dominant safeties in the game in 2019, which is why he was tagged as the Denver Broncos’ franchise player this offseason.

The team is now hoping to get a long-term deal done with the star safety in hopes that he will lead them for years to come.

Not only is Simmons tremendous on the field, but he was named the Broncos’ 2019 Walter Payton Man of the Year candidate.
