Defensive Backs (11, 53/53)

Cornerbacks

  • 1. Patrick Peterson
  • 2. Byron Murphy
  • 3. Robert Alford
  • 4. Chris Jones
  • 5. Kevin Peterson
  • 6. Jalen Davis

Safeties

  • 1. Budda Baker
  • 2. Jalen Thompson
  • 3. Deionte Thompson
  • 4. Chris Banjo
  • 5. Charles Washington

This is a lot of defensive backs for a team to keep, but the Cardinals can use this as an exercise in keeping an open mind.

Patrick Peterson, Byron Murphy, and Budda Baker are the obvious studs in this defensive backfield.

Jalen and Deionte Thompson are young players at the safety position who got their feet wet with Arizona last season.

Jalen Thompson, you’ll recall, was a Supplemental Draft pick for Arizona last year while Deionte came in as a fifth-rounder in the 2019 NFL draft.

There should be some nice competition at defensive back for the Cardinals this year, however. There are young players this coaching staff and front office obviously like, but this could be a group where undrafted players could earn spots at either corner or safety.
