Carolina Panthers

2. QB. Ohio State. Justin Fields. player. 87. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

The Matt Rhule experiment in Carolina is going to be a multi-year process.

The Panthers just moved on from Cam Newton and brought in Teddy Bridgewater to replace him. As much as I love Bridgewater, there’s no question about the fact that if both players are healthy, Cam Newton is the far better option and gives the Panthers a better chance to win.

Let’s not forget that Bridgewater is no guarantee to stay healthy, either.

Although the Panthers have some nice pieces on their roster, Bridgewater is more of a question mark at QB to me than a sure thing and as good as Christian McCaffrey is, it’s going to take time for Carolina to gel defensively and get things going.

If the Panthers land this high in the 2021 NFL Draft order, Justin Fields has to be considered a legitimate option.

Fields could contend with Trevor Lawrence to be the top player off the board in general with his size, arm. talent, athleticism, and natural playmaking ability. He accounted for 51 total touchdowns (41 passing, 10 rushing) in his first season at Ohio State after transferring from Georgia.
