1. You know…

The biggest mistake the Patriots made in the 2020 offseason was the way they just sort of let Tom Brady walk away and take Rob Gronkowski with him.

I don’t know if every Patriots fan is going to agree with this, but after 20 years with the team the Patriots weren’t willing or able to put the proper pieces around the greatest QB of all time to make him happy and let him finish out his career with them?

This may end up being short-sighted, but the way the Patriots have handled the last 12 months is really proof that they believe they are bigger than just one or two guys.

The rest of the NFL has been waiting a really long time to see this particular series of events unfold, and now that it’s happened, the Patriots seem like a wounded animal with a pack of wolves ready to attack.

Time will tell if the Patriots made the right decision moving on from Brady when they did. If you look back at the 2019 season, it seems clear now that the Patriots had moved on from Brady long before the 2020 free agent period, which also could have cost them a run in the 2019 playoffs.

It’s hard to say the Patriots did Tom Brady dirty or anything like that, but their decision to move on from him basically during the 2019 season and not adequately replace him or build around their young quarterback is the cardinal sin this team committed in the 2020 offseason.
