Dallas Cowboys roster and depth chart prediction for 2020
Quarterback (2, 2/53)
- 1. Dak Prescott
- 2. Andy Dalton
The contract situation with Dak Prescott is widely expected to get worked out, but at this point Cowboys fans have to be getting a little bit anxious about it.
For the time being, Prescott is on the franchise tag. He wants to be set for life with his new contract, and the Cowboys likely want that as well, but there has to be give and take on both sides in any negotiations.
The Cowboys signed Andy Dalton this offseason in a somewhat surprising development to be Prescott’s backup. They have rookie Ben DiNucci as well to consider here and Mike McCarthy likes collecting QBs, but I think DiNucci — barring a stunning preseason performance — will make it to the practice squad and save the Cowboys a roster spot.
Special teams (3, 5/53)
- 1. Greg Zeuerlein (K)
- 2. Chris Jones (P)
- 3. LP Ladouceur (LS)
There should not be any surprises here. Greg Zeuerlein was signed from the Los Angeles Rams to give the Cowboys some consistency in the kicking game which has been hard to find since Dan Bailey’s tenure with the team came to an end.
Zeuerlein’s three-year contract is a sign of the team’s confidence in the fact that he can be a solution for them.
