Season 3: Lance LeGendre, Quarterback, Maryland

Lance LeGendre closed out the third season of the show’s on-field highlights with a heartbreaking loss in the Louisiana State Championship. Of the three stars of the season, LeGendre was the only one to see the field during the state championship as well. And the final thing that set LeGendre apart in his season, he was the only one to wait until the end of his season to commit, deciding on Maryland.

In his first season at Maryland, LeGendre did the same as Rattler at Oklahoma, playing in three games while still earning a redshirt. In his three games, LeGendre went 1-of-3 for seven yards while rushing for 104 yards on 13 carries, despite having an injury during the season. However, the road could become more difficult for LeGendre to start after the transfer of Taulia Tagovailoa to Maryland as well as the return of 2019 starter Josh Jackson.

What LeGendre has going for him is his style of play. Should he chose to stay at Maryland and compete with Tagovailoa or enter the transfer portal, he has the ability to turn heads. Although his skill isn’t at the same level yet, the way LeGendre plays does somewhat resemble Lamar Jackson, being the ability to use his legs first if need be and opening up the playbook. Regardless, should he develop well, LeGendre has the potential to be an NFL Draft sleeper of the future.
