QB1 to the NFL, How Netflix could shape the NFL Draft
By Kyle Edmond
Season 3: Spencer Rattler, Quarterback, Oklahoma
By the third season of the show, it was rather clear that Spencer Rattler was the perfect player to feature. Not only was he the No. 1 high school quarterback prospect in the nation, but his personality and style of play were perfect for the show. With confidence that can only be compared to some of the best in sports, Rattler was a sure-fire commit and is now preparing to take over at Oklahoma.
Rattler saw action in three games last season, still earning a redshirt while going 7-of-11 for 81 yards and a touchdown through the air and adding 23 yards on the ground. His talent is already being showcased on social media and he is ready to take over an offense that has had Jalen Hurts, Kyler Murray and Baker Mayfield under center just in the last five years, and he could be the best of the bunch.
After accepting Jalen Hurts as a transfer last year to bridge the redshirt season for Rattler, the Sooners are in good hands moving forward as the young quarterback is set to compete for the starting job with Tanner Mordecai leading into the 2020 season. However, given the hype, it seems like the job is Rattler’s to lose as he begins his road to the NFL Draft.
