2021 NFL Draft: Washington Redskins get top pick in new mock draft
By Kyle Edmond
29. Indianapolis Colts: Paulson Adebo, Cornerback, Stanford
The Colts are in a position to make a run with Philip Rivers, but it could be a one-time try. At 11-5, they almost get it done and might be close enough to convince Rivers to return for one more season, but Rivers wasn’t the only big-name free agent to make the move to Indianapolis.
They also added Xavier Rhodes, but that could just be a band-aid fix and he only takes up one spot at cornerback. There’s no doubt he’ll have an impact, coming off of another Pro Bowl season, but the Colts need a long-term answer in the secondary.
Enter the 2021 NFL Draft. Paulson Adebo is rather low on the cornerback list, but with so many off the board the Colts possibly reach to fill a need. Adebo had a down year in 2019, playing in just nine games, but he’s still proven to be one of the better pass defenders in college football.
In his nine games he logged 10 passes defended after having 17 over 13 games in the 2018 season. If he can bounce back and play a full schedule in 2020, he should be in the first round discussions entering the 2021 NFL Draft.
