23. Seattle Seahawks: Chuba Hubbard, Running Back, Oklahoma State

Russell Wilson continues to carry the Seahawks, but the season showed how badly they need running backs. Not only did they struggle at the end of last season to keep healthy backs on the roster, but now rumors are circulating that Marshawn Lynch could again be back in Seattle. Even if Lynch returns, he’s a year-by-year back that shouldn’t be relied on as the main option. Seattle needs to realize they need another young running back.

In the 2021 NFL Draft, they have to address this. Hubbard is being considered as a top back, right up there with Etienne, but doesn’t have the national attention of Clemson. With how running backs have been going the last few years, you can assume that one of them will be there for Seattle and they can’t pass again.

Hubbard made a big jump in his sophomore year, rushing for over 2,000 yards. If he can replicate that type of season, he could break the trend of late-first round running backs and go much higher than 23.

The other direction the Seahawks could go with this pick would be secondary. The Legion of Boom is far in the past, but they could look to rebuild the secondary a bit more to try and return to that level.
