2021 NFL Draft: Washington Redskins get top pick in new mock draft
By Kyle Edmond
22. Tennessee Titans: Jay Tufele, Defensive Tackle, USC
Tennessee seems to think they have found their quarterback, so we’ll see if the Ryan Tannehill plan works for another season in Tennessee. If not, then my projected 11-5 record and playoff berth could be very off, as well as the team needs for the 2021 NFL Draft. However, if it does, then this could be where the Titans end up. I think they would have another solid season, but they won’t be able to repeat their playoff run.
I thought Tennessee would have invested in the defensive line this year higher than the fifth round, but waiting until next year works out for them in this case. If Tufele repeats the strides he made last season, this could be a steal for the Titans. Over his two seasons at USC, Tufele has tallied up six sacks. Although he is more of a run stopper, he can create pressure at times.
If the Titans would want to go a different route here, there are offensive positions that are a possibility. I could see the Titans turn to a tight end or offensive lineman or even shock everyone and take a running back to partner with Derrick Henry in the backfield.
