18. Denver Broncos: Cade Mays, Offensive Line, Tennessee

Like Tampa Bay, the Broncos are the team left on the outside looking in on the AFC playoffs after a 10-6 season. Also similar to the Buccaneers, the weapons are there for the Broncos across the offense, but the protection could be what causes them to just miss the playoffs. Signing Melvin Gordon and drafting Jerry Jeudy will give Drew Lock all he needs in terms of offense, but what he might not have is time.

After transferring from Georgia to Tennessee, Mays is set to be the lead on what is being considered as the best offensive line in the SEC. He should be able to play multiple positions on the line and would be an upgrade to Denver’s line. Should the Tennessee line live up to the hype, Mays will be at the forefront of the conversation and will warrant high consideration in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Like many teams picking in the late teens or early twenties, the Broncos don’t necessarily take their biggest need here. Instead, they let the draft come to them and then fill a need on their roster or upgrade a spot that could be better.

The one thing that could derail that plan and taking Mays is if John Elway decides to make a splash in the 2021 NFL Draft as he has in the past.
