2021 NFL Draft: Washington Redskins get top pick in new mock draft
By Kyle Edmond
15. Las Vegas Raiders: DeVonta Smith, Wide Receiver, Alabama
Jon Gruden falls in love with every quarterback he sees, so there will always be speculation that the Raiders are looking to make a move at the position. However, with Derek Carr and Marcus Mariota on the roster, I think one of them hits their stride this season and Gruden will decide to go with one of them for the long-term. However, the battle of finding which one will hinder the Raiders season, falling to 7-9.
However, with the quarterback figured out, the Raiders can go full force into building around a franchise player. For that reason, the Raiders pair up Henry Ruggs III and DeVonta Smith once again. The duo produced at a high level at Alabama and Las Vegas will hope that transfers to their new stadium as well.
Tyrell Williams has shown what a top receiver can do with the Raiders’ current style and Hunter Renfrow has also revealed flashes. Having Ruggs and Smith in the system allows Williams, Renfrow, and whoever else to fill the third spot while the quarterback creates chemistry with Ruggs and Smith.
The duo would rather complete the offense if the quarterback is figured out and the running game going strong, not to mention all being on the young side.
