2021 NFL Draft: Washington Redskins get top pick in new mock draft

11. Los Angeles Chargers: Walker Little, Offensive Line, Stanford
It seems like every year we’re talking about how the Chargers need offensive lineman, and the 2021 NFL Draft should be no different. With Justin Herbert set to be the quarterback of the future, the Chargers need to make sure they can protect him, much like what I wrote earlier for the Bengals.
I think the Chargers start off with Tyrod Taylor and eventually move to Herbert, no matter what their record may be. The lack of direction spells out a 6-10 finish and a near rebuild for the Chargers, but it could be more of a rebirth than a rebuild. The pieces are there, they just need to be reconfigured to fit the style of Herbert, and that’s where the offensive line comes in.
Little is coming off of an injury and will need to prove he’s back at an elite level. He would have been a high selection this year had the injury not happened. Instead, the Chargers luck out with a solid protector for Herbert that can help in both the run and the pass. The concern for the Chargers will be another Forrest Lamp situation – a highly touted offensive lineman with injury concerns that struggles to stay on the field.
