Los Angeles Chargers re-draft: Fixing their 2020 NFL Draft haul
Fixing the Los Angeles Chargers’ haul in the 2020 NFL Draft with a complete re-draft.
The 2020 NFL Draft class put together by the Los Angeles Chargers is going to have a wide range of opinions. Justin Herbert was one of the most interesting players in the 2020 NFL Draft class, with many loving his upside at the next level, while others questioning whether he was actually a franchise quarterback worth taking high. As soon as the Chargers scooped Herbert up at No. 6 overall, their entire class is tied to his ability to become a true franchise signal-caller.
Personally, I am not a big Herbert fan. He panics when he is faced with anything other than a clean pocket, he is not much of an improviser and his accuracy is inconsistent. Herbert is a big and athletic quarterback who can make any throw on the field, but he did not impress in college unless everything was perfect. He is not going to consistently see perfect situations at the next level.
Since Herbert was not worth the No. 6 overall pick in my mind, I was not a big fan of the Los Angeles Chargers’ 2020 NFL Draft class as a whole. A lot of that has to do with the significant investment in Herbert, but there were plenty of other picks that I did not like as well.
Personally, I think this team could have done much better. Want to know how? Follow along as we go through a complete re-draft for the Los Angeles Chargers, putting together a better 2020 NFL Draft class for both the short and long-term health of the franchise.
