2020 NFL Draft: The most improved rosters in the NFL this offseason
NFC West: Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals went from the 32nd ranked offense in 2018 to 16th with Kliff Kingsbury and Kyler Murray at the helm. Murray was very good as a rookie and the Cardinals made arguably the best move of any team the entire offseason in 2020.
New (potential) starters in 2020
- WR DeAndre Hopkins
- OT Josh Jones
- DL Jordan Phillips
- LB Isaiah Simmons
- LB De’Vondre Campbell
The move the Cardinals made trading a second-round pick and David Johnson for DeAndre Hopkins is the best move of this offseason or perhaps in recent memory.
Hopkins is widely considered to be the best receiver in pro football, and he now joins a talented arsenal of pass catchers in Arizona featuring Larry Fitzgerald, Christian Kirk, Andy Isabella, Hakeem Butler, and KeeSean Johnson.
The Cardinals also brought back Kenyan Drake who was tremendous for them last year after being acquired in a trade with Miami.
Defensively, the Cardinals got the player some believe to be the best player on that side of the ball in this class behind Ohio State’s Chase Young. Isaiah Simmons is certainly the most versatile player in the 2020 NFL Draft class, and he joins a defense that also added big Jordan Phillips up front.
The Cardinals may have also stolen a potential first-round talent at offensive tackle in Josh Jones, who fell into their laps in round three.
With the additions the Cardinals made and the way their talent projects to 2020, this may be the most improved team in the league, much less their own division.
