2021 NFL Draft: Trey Lance lands in top five of way-too-early mock draft

If the right opportunity presents itself, I would not be that surprised to see the Washington Redskins move on from Dwayne Haskins next offseason and find his replacement in the 2021 NFL Draft. However, in this mock draft scenario, Haskins shows just enough to keep his job and the Redskins get him some help on the offensive line.

Walker Little has long arms and shows good power at the point of attack. He is quick off of the ball and shows the ability to make impressive blocks at the second level as a run blocker. It is not difficult to watch Little and see flashes of a potential franchise left tackle at the next level. That being said, he has some inconsistencies in pass protection that must be addressed.

Little has sloppy hands in pass protection, tending to lunge forward without any power and allowing the pass rusher to easily rip through and attack the quarterback. He typically does a decent job of riding out the pass rusher if he attacks from the outside, but Little consistently struggles against inside pass-rush moves.

In order for him to go this high in the 2021 NFL Draft, Little simply must clean up his pass protection issues. That being said, he shows enough promise in that area where improvement is certainly possible. Right now, this feels like a bit of a reach, but with a good 2020 season, Little will likely be a top 10 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. With an obvious need at offensive tackle, the Redskins are an obvious team who could bring him in.
