Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB. Trevor Lawrence. 1. Clemson. player. 52

Jacksonville Jaguars’ projected win total: 6.2
Trevor Lawrence 2019 stats: 65.8% completion percentage for 3,665 yards, 36 touchdowns and 8 interceptions through the air. 103 carries for 563 yards and 9 touchdowns on the ground.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are the big winners of this mock draft, ending up with the first overall pick after 10,000 simulations by PFF. The Jags are entering the 2020 season with second-year quarterback Gardner Minshew as their franchise signal-caller. They are giving Minshew one full year to prove himself and if it goes well, then he will likely be their starting quarterback moving forward. If not, they will likely move on.

The Minshew experiment clearly did not go well in this 2021 NFL Draft scenario and the Jags find their new franchise quarterback. Trevor Lawrence could end up being the best quarterback prospect in recent memory and is the massive favorite to go first overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. If a team that does not really need a quarterback ends up picking number one, they will likely trade the pick for a fortune to a team that wants Lawrence. In this mock draft, no trade is needed.

Lawrence has it all at the quarterback position. He is an extremely smart and poised quarterback in the pocket who sees the field well and consistently place the ball on a dime. He works through his progressions quickly and has the arm strength to hit any throw on the field. Lawrence also has impressive accuracy to all fields, shows strong instincts in the pocket and is a massive threat to make plays with his legs.

Make no mistake about it, Trevor Lawrence is an elite quarterback prospect who has massive upside at the next level. If the Jaguars are lucky enough to end up with the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the choice is easy. Lawrence is their guy and he would likely turn their franchise around quickly.
