The Arizona Cardinals have set second-year quarterback Kyler Murray up for a massive 2020 season.

The Arizona Cardinals found themselves in a tough situation last offseason. They could have traded away the first overall pick and moved forward with Josh Rosen as their franchise quarterback. Taking Nick Bosa at No. 1 overall may not have been a bad move either. However, as soon as they hired Kliff Kingsbury to be their head coach, taking Kyler Murray was always the best option.

Murray is tailor-made for Kingsbury’s offense and is the perfect player to lead the Arizona Cardinals into the future. He showed immediate playmaking ability as a rookie, taking home the 2019 AP Offensive Rookie of the Year Award. Murray completed 64.4% of his passes last season for 3,722 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also piled up 544 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

We saw it in college, but Murray proved during his rookie season that he is an impact player with the ball in his hands. He has incredible natural speed and elusiveness on the field and fantastic pocket awareness. Murray also has a live arm and has better ball placement than he is typically given credit.

His wide-open playmaking style is absolutely perfect for Kingsbury’s wide-open offensive attack. The Arizona Cardinals love to spread the field and aggressively attack. Murray has the ultimate freedom in this offense to roam around and consistently make with his creative playing style.

The Arizona Cardinals already had an interesting group of offensive weapons led by Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk. However, they swung big this offseason, absolutely stealing DeAndre Hopkins from the Houston Texans. Now, Murray has a true number one receiver who he can count on to make plays in any situation.
