Who was the best 2020 NFL Draft pick made by each team in the AFC West?

The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs are set up to dominate the AFC West for a very long time. Led by Patrick Mahomes, this team is set up for a ton of success in both the short and long-term. That being said, do not sleep on the rest of the teams in this division. The Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos all have extremely talented squads and will undoubtedly challenge the Chiefs in the division for many years.

Make no mistake about it, this is an extremely strong division filled with a ton of talent across all four teams. The Chiefs are going to get the most attention, but all of these teams are in a position to compete quickly.

How were these four teams able to help themselves in the 2020 NFL Draft? Let’s take a look at the best individual pick made by each of these teams. Up first, the new team in Sin City.

Las Vegas Raiders: Amik Robertson, CB, Louisiana Tech

Round 4, 139th Overall

The Las Vegas Raiders held two first-round picks in the 2020 NFL Draft and were able to fill important positions of needs with each of those selections. The addition of wide receiver Henry Ruggs III at No. 12 is exciting and could reshape their entire offense. I question the value of taking cornerback Damon Arnette at No. 19, but he is still a talented player and cornerback was undoubtedly a major need for this team.

However, neither of those players were my favorite selections for the Raiders in the 2020 NFL Draft. That honor goes to their very last selection, cornerback Amik Robertson.

The Raiders were able to snag Robertson at an incredible value late in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Robertson likely fell down the board due to his lack of size (5-foot-8, 187 pounds), but one does not have to watch much of his tape to understand that this guy can make an impact at the next level.

Robertson is an extremely quick and athletic cornerback prospect who is sticky in man-to-man coverage. He is also an extremely physical player who has a knack for making plays on the ball. Robertson will likely primarily be a slot cornerback at the next level, but he is an extremely active and aggressive player who will be able to make an impact. Taking him late in the fourth round is an absolute steal.
