Scouting Report. 8. 30. Pick Analysis. CB. Alabama. Patrick Surtain II. player

It doesn’t feel like it was that long ago that Pat Surtain was out there on the field terrorizing quarterbacks.

Patrick Surtain II’s father Patrick Surtain played 11 years in the NFL, seven with the Miami Dolphins and four with the Kansas City Chiefs. He picked off 37 passes and for a period in the early 2000s, he was one of the elite cornerbacks in the game.

Now his son is about to carry the torch into the NFL and lock it down for some team at the cornerback position.

Surtain has been a star for the Crimson Tide since he stepped on campus and has 15 pass breakups, four forced fumbles, three interceptions, and 79 total tackles. He’s capable of shutting down his side of the field when he’s at his best.

The Jets went heavy on the offensive side of the ball with their top picks in the 2020 NFL Draft, so they address secondary here.
