2021 NFL Draft: The first tank for Trevor Lawrence mock draft
Just a redshirt freshman in 2019, Gregory Rousseau is wearing the captain’s “C” on his chest.
After playing one game in 2018 and taking a medical redshirt, Rousseau blew up in 2019 to the tune of 54 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, and 15.5 sacks along with two forced fumbles.
Rousseau’s versatility as a pass rusher and the quickness with which he gets to the quarterback are downright impressive, and the next step for the Dolphins after getting Tua Tagovailoa in the program is building a tremendous defense.
The Dolphins could go a number of directions with this pick, but they also own Houston’s pick, so they have another selection in this round to work with.
Rousseau is considered one of the consensus top prospects and his ability to rush the quarterback from the inside or the edge will endear him to Brian Flores and the Dolphins.
