5. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. WR. LSU. Ja'Marr Chase. 31

There were plenty of supporting cast members to the Joe Burrow show with the LSU offense in the 2019 college football season.

There was first-round receiver Justin Jefferson and first-round running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire. There was a third-round center in Lloyd Cushenberry III and a number of other drafted offensive linemen.

There as Thaddeus Moss, who would have been drafted were it not for an injury suffered in the pre-draft process.

And then there was Ja’Marr Chase, the best player on the team not named Joe.

Chase was the best wide receiver in college football in 2019, and he’s going to be one of the most coveted players for the 2021 NFL Draft.

He routinely made difficult plays look easy.

Chase caught 84 passes, and this is not a typo — he averaged 21.2 yards per reception. That is freakish, insane, and unfair. He caught 20 touchdown passes.

His statistical production may not be topped in 2020 but he is a complete receiver prospect who would be a great WR1 for Daniel Jones and the New York Giants offense.
