2020 NFL Draft: Los Angeles Rams post-draft grades
After letting both of their starting edge rushers test the market in free agency this offseason, the Los Angeles Rams’ biggest need going into the 2020 NFL Draft was to find some young talent to replace them.
While they did decide to pass on the likes of Josh Uche and Zack Baun in the second-round, they landed some great value after Terrell Lewis fell into their laps with the 84th pick of the draft. Although he comes with significant durability concerns, Lewis has all the tools to be a productive pass rusher at the next level.
He’s got incredible length and all the physical gifts you could hope for off the edge. If he’s able to stay healthy and continues to refine his technique, Lewis could prove to be one of the steals of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Grade: A
The theme of the Los Angeles Rams 2020 NFL Draft class thus far has been replacing their veteran losses from this offseason and that continued when they were on the clock for the second time in the third round.
They snagged Utah safety Terrell Burgess with the 104th overall pick to presumably compete for that vacant nickel spot left when Robey-Coleman left for Philly.
Burgess is a versatile defensive back that shows outstanding instincts in coverage and closes on ball-carriers in a hurry. He can play deep but seems to fit best in the slot, which is where I expect him to make his impact with the Rams. I like this pick a lot.
