Auburn’s Marlon Davidson had many polarizing opinions on him coming into the 2020 NFL Draft. With rumors of being a potential first-round selection to many having a borderline day two grade, there was no such thing as a consensus thought on the versatile defensive lineman.

He was an interesting study. Auburn lined up the 300+ pound all over the line of scrimmage, however, I don’t see a projection that allows him to line up on the edge standing like an outside linebacker as he did at Auburn.

Davidson should be a really nice compliment to Grady Jarrett on the interior of the defensive line. as my 84th overall prospect, again, there is a reach here according to my board. Though he has great tools and some notable traits, I think his game will take a little longer to translate to the NFL. However, I do like the fit and the positional prioritization with this selection.

Grade: B+

The value here is the best the Atlanta Falcons have in the entire of the 2020 NFL Draft. As my 48th overall prospect on my big-board, Atlanta getting him in the middle of the 3rd round is a steal in my opinion. Matt Hennessy will likely walk in as the starting left guard. Being a center throughout his collegiate career, Hennessy will be the heir to the middle of the offensive line when Alex Mack decides to retire in the near future.

Center prospects don’t come in as technically-sound and smart as Hennessy. His understanding of rush concepts and how to best alter his hand usage and footwork is that of a veteran professional already. I don’t think he will have any problem starting day one for the Atlanta Falcons.

Grade: A+
