C -. 2020 NFL Draft, Round 3, Pick 66. RB/WR. Memphis. ANTONIO GIBSON

Antonio Gibson seemed like a huge reach at pick 66 in the 2020 NFL Draft. Although the Washington Redskins currently have Adrian Peterson, Derrius Guice, Bryce Love, Peyton Barber and JD McKissic all on their roster, they chose to use their second pick in the draft on a position quite low on their positional needs. This along with the debate of what exactly will be Gibson’s true position in the NFL all raise massive red flags for me so early in the draft.

I see Gibson as a third-down back, taking the role of Chris Thompson, and showing the potential to sneak out of the backfield and into the slot as a receiver. These roles fit his abilities as a smooth catcher and his ability to accrue yards after the catch. He also could work on special teams as a kick/punt returner but this just seems too high of selection for my liking with how many holes they currently have on their roster.

B+. 2020 NFL Draft, Round 4, Pick 108. OT. LSU. SAAHDIQ CHARLES

Saahdiq Charles hits a position of need at offensive tackle with the team finally moving on from Trent Williams. One of Charles many advantages of going to LSU is his tape blocking in a five-man front where his negatives would have been exposed much easier opposed to him having extra help in a different blocking scheme.

He has great foot speed and is a fluid mover that can mirror edge rushers at ease. His biggest negatives are his size and his power at the point of attack which should be fixed with an NFL workout program.

Charles is a player with a high ceiling but an average floor, his disciplinary issues in college definitely led to him being selected in the fourth round, as a player without his question marks would have been selected earlier in this class. That being said, overall Washington got a rotational player for 2020 with the upside for him to take over the left tackle spot in the future.

There may be some ups and downs during his rookie year, especially with the shortened offseason due to Covid-19, but he looks like he could be a starter in the league for quite some time.
