2020 NFL Draft: Indianapolis Colts post-draft grades
After bringing in Philip Rivers this offseason, the Indianapolis Colts expect to provide him with another shot at a playoff run in 2020. To do that, he needed more weapons at his disposal and with the 34th pick of the 2020 NFL Draft they got him a good one.
Michael Pittman Jr. is a long, sure-handed outside receiver that continued to fly up draft boards throughout the draft process. He has very few flaws in his game and provides Rivers with a bigger target outside of T.Y. Hilton and Paris Campbell.
After sweating it out and watching seven receivers come off the board before they were on the clock, landing Pittman was a nice payoff. He should make an instant impact in Indy.
Grade: A-
After two running backs had come off the board by pick 35, the Indianapolis Colts thought they needed to be aggressive to land the back they wanted. So, they called the Cleveland Browns and traded picks 44 and 160 for 41st overall and landed Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor.
The former Badger finished top-three in rushing yards in all three of his seasons at Wisconsin and was just the second running back ever to finish with 2,000 yards rushing in consecutive seasons. A two-time Doak Walker award winner, Taylor is a speedy back with plenty of wiggle and patience that should give the Colts a dangerous two-headed backfield with him and Marlon Mack.
Taylor is a great fit for the Indianapolis Colts and is a nice insurance policy for the oft-injured Mack.
