2020 NFL Draft: Grading every Dallas Cowboys selection
The Dallas Cowboys made a big splash on day one of the 2020 NFL Draft when they took Oklahoma WR CeeDee Lamb, but how did they do overall?
The 2020 NFL Draft came and went pretty quickly and the Dallas Cowboys faired very well. They entered the draft needing to fill a variety of holes on the defense and picked up some talented prospects when it was all said and done.
In the first round, they actually went with the best player available when Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb unexpected fell in their laps. This was not a need at all, but the value was just too good to pass up. When the widely considered number one receiver is available at 17 you take him.
Jerry Jones then addressed the defense taking four defensive players on the last two days of the 2020 NFL Draft. First was Alabama cornerback Trevon Diggs who now figures to at least compete for a starting corner job on the outside. Dallas added some beef to their interior defensive line grabbing defensive lineman Neville Gallimore out of Oklahoma.
The Dallas Cowboys added more to their defense on day three taking Tulsa cornerback Reggie Robinson III and Utah defensive end Bradlee Anae in the fourth and fifth rounds respectively. The slide for Anae was pretty surprising considering the amount of buzz he was getting during the pre-draft process.
Dallas also made a trade during this draft when they sent pick 164 and a 2021 fifth-round pick to Philadelphia for the number 146 pick. They used that selection on Wisconsin center Tyler Biadasz who will now compete for a job on the interior offensive line.
The Dallas Cowboys were one of the teams that I believe had a successful 2020 NFL Draft, considering value and projections on the prospects that they selected. In reality, nobody will know how this draft class will pan out, but these grades are simply based on my projections and evaluations of the prospects coming out of college.
Follow along as we grade each and every pick made by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2020 NFL Draft.
