The Buffalo Bills do not have a lot of 2020 NFL Draft capital, but they are making the most out of what they have. Gabriel Davis is another good pick for them.

The Buffalo Bills made an aggressive trade for Stefon Diggs earlier this offseason, but they still entered the 2020 NFL Draft with a need at the wide receiver position. The Bills’ starting trio of Diggs, John Brown and Cole Beasley is solid, but they undoubtedly lack impact depth at the wide receiver position.

In the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills address that depth at receiver, adding Gabriel Davis, an interesting wide receiver out of UCF. Davis is a big target who shows an impressive catch radius and has success in contested-catch situations. He is a strong fit for the Bills, who currently lack legitimate size on the outside.

While his size immediately stands out on tape, do not sleep on burst and overall speed on the field. This guy has some impressive deep speed and tracks the ball in the air extremely well. Davis shows a nice release at the line of scrimmage and can run by many defensive backs once he gets a  step. He has a nice combination of a wide catch radius and legitimate deep speed. It is hard to find those kinds of players this late in the draft.

I really like what the Buffalo Bills are doing with their limited 2020 NFL Draft capital. They filled important needs on Day 2, snagging defensive lineman A.J. Epenesa and running back Zack Moss. Both Epenesa and Moss are tough and physical football players who fit the style of the Bills extremely well. Adding Davis to this already solid haul of players is undoubtedly a step in the right direction.

Trading for Diggs limited the Bills’ ability to add impact talent in this draft, but they are doing well with what they have to work with.
