Grading each pick made by Arizona Cardinals in the 2020 NFL Draft
With the 222nd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals brought in running back Eno Benjamin. The Cardinals keep the tough runner in the desert! Coming from Arizona State, Eno Benjamin gives off vibes of a quick-twitch explosive runner, but, he’s a hard-nosed, bruising back who will make you sore the day after the game. The Cardinals have Kenyan Drake, and Chase Edmonds on the roster, but after dealing David Johnson, they were looking for another back.
The value of this pick is tremendous. I had a third-round grade on the Arizona State running back, and the Cardinals grabbed him in the seventh round. Looking at his value compared to other players on the board, and it’s still fantastic. Benjamin was my best player available, and it is likely that it is the same case for Steve Keim and the Cardinals.
While Benjamin might not become a starter in the desert with Kenyan Drake holding that role down, I feel like he could step into a backup role and contribute greatly. He’s a great blocker and receiver who can step in on any down and play. He’s not the most dynamic athlete, but he’s a hard worker who will give it his all on every snap.
This is one of the best value picks of the entire 2020 NFL Draft according to my board.
