The Miami Dolphins continue to stockpile talent in the 2020 NFL Draft and used their first pick in the second round on X.

The Miami Dolphins started off their massive 2020 NFL Draft class by taking a shot on Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

They followed up that selection in round one by getting Tua a left tackle in USC’s Austin Jackson.

After Jackson, the Dolphins moved down a few spots with the Green Bay Packers and added Auburn cornerback Noah Igbinoghene to their loaded cornerback group.

To kick off day two of the 2020 NFL Draft, they added to their massive stockpile by drafting Louisiana-Lafayette offensive lineman Robert Hunt.

This pick is all about Tua Tagovailoa, and Robert Hunt has positional versatility. I love this pick for general manager Chris Grier and head coach Brian Flores.

Not only is Hunt a nasty player at the tackle position, but he was absolutely dominant in pass protection over the course of four years.

If you’re keeping score of the Dolphins’ 2020 NFL Draft haul at home:

  • Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
  • Austin Jackson, OT, USC
  • Noah Igbinoghene, CB, Auburn
  • Robert Hunt, OT/G, Louisiana-Lafayette

What is Hunt going to be for this team as a rookie? I think for the Dolphins, he has a chance to step in immediately as the team’s starting right tackle with Jackson taking over the left side.

The Dolphins obviously added Ereck Flowers and Ted Karras in free agency to take over two interior spots and 2019 third-round pick Michael Dieter can play the right guard position.

I love Hunt’s game — his physical presence, his wide body, his strong initial hand punch, and his overall upside once he gets into an NFL program.

He has a chance to be one of the biggest steals of this draft class because of the fact that he played for Louisiana-Lafayette but there’s really a lot to like about his tape and obviously his versatility and ability to play inside and outside at the next level is a huge factor here.

The Miami Dolphins are not done with the 56th overall pick coming up later in round two.
