The New Orleans Saints are a team ready to compete in 2020. Who will they add to this championship contender in this year’s draft?

It is Christmas morning for everyone who loves the draft process. We finally made it through a wild draft season, which has led to general managers making draft picks from their living rooms. The unpredictability of this draft is going to not only be great TV but will also have a major impact on this upcoming season.

The New Orleans Saints are ready to once again chase a championship after falling seemingly just short the past three seasons. Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis have done an outstanding job building this team up through the draft since 2016.

Michael Thomas, Sheldon Rankins, Alvin Kamara, Marshon Lattimore, Ryan Ramczyk, Marcus Davenport and Erik McCoy have all been key contributors in the Saints’ run to the top of the NFC. All of these players were drafted by New Orleans within the past four drafts and have made an impact at young ages.

This year, the New Orleans Saints can go in many different ways. Some draft analysts have discussed the Saints possibly finding their quarterback of the future in the back-end of the first round.

Jordan Love is a player who has been connected to the Saints, as he can be groomed behind Drew Brees and Sean Payton for this season. Love has fantastic tools and being able to learn behind two great offensive minds can potentially turn the Saints two-year window into a 10-year window.

The New Orleans Saints could also address an immediate need. Linebacker comes into mind, but they could still use another receiver to bring the offense to uncharted heights. The always aggressive Saints could also go all in and move up for an elite prospect. However, with only five picks this year, it may be difficult to pull that trigger.

With that in mind, I decided to make no trades for this mock draft and just keep the New Orleans Saints at their already slotted picks. This strategy helps them address their immediate needs in hopes of adding new young talent to a team already full of such talent.

Using The Draft Network’s Mock Draft Machine, I was able to pick up five players who can help the Saints in both the short term and long term. Let’s get into it, which prospects are the Saints going to welcome into their team this weekend?
